The same kind of men who berate women and minorities in video games have gotten a foothold in film crit, and often use accusations of 'Cal Arts Style' as part of an agenda. They don't want to diversify films, let alone diversify designs! If you think recent Pixar films are 'samey', that's your opinion and I respect it; the problem arises when others turn what might be valid criticism for one thing into a dogwhistle for another (diverse representation, usually).
