For someone who claims to be a "fierce feminist", that's a really negative thing to say to another woman living her life the way she sees fit. I never claimed to be "not like other girls," and I wouldn't ever say that, because there's nothing wrong with liking things other women like. For me, feminism is about the ability to choose rather than being forced to do things the way they've "always" been done. Tearing down women for choosing something you wouldn't want is antithetical to feminism.

My partner and I decided to make a public commitment to one another and have a party with our families. He's still a feminist, no one was enslaved, and now we have additional rights and protections under the law that benefit us both. I'm sorry our happiness makes you so bitter.
