I agree 100%! One of the things that I didn't address here is that he assumes the money will pay for his son's education--as if it isn't his wife's decision if that's how she wants to spend/invest it. If I were her, I'd be keeping that money away from any accounts where he has access (which might, unfortunately, include college fund/saving account for the baby, because often both parents have access & can withdraw if things go south).
