I also cross-post on Simily, but is isn't as grand as it seems. Simily pays $0.02 per internal view. External views don't count, just like at Medium. So you'd have earned $2.82 on Similie for the same 141 internal views. That's not particularly clear when you sign up.
But that's not to say that it isn't worth it to try. I made about $11 on Simily. But I also had a "Story of the Month" that was distributed via their main newsletter. Most people never earn the minimum $10 payout, as far as I've seen. Unlikely Medium, which currently pays out even if you make $0.01, you have to accumulate $10 to get anything.
Medium has a far larger base to begin with, so more potential internal viewers from the get-go. Even if people find your story on Google, there's a change they're a Medium member -- or will become one. If a reader becomes a member within 30 days of reading your article, you get paid for their view, which is not true of Simily. Moreover, if someone becomes a paid subscriber from your page (even if they don't use your referal link), they become your refered member and you get a portion of their monthly fee. I made $14/month on Medium from subscription referals, as a baseline, and between $40-100/month for views after about a year. It took me 3 months to earn $11 on Simily, and I've got another $5 sitting on the site that I won't get until it passes $10 again.
So while I encourage you (and everyone) to use multiple platforms/diversify, don't get your hopes up about Simily just yet. It's still far too small to be a sustainable or reliable source of income, whereas Medium can be if you work at it.
