I'm definitely thinking there was a "clean" version cut for TV, because I don't remember there being as much sex (or drug use, or the dead prostitute in the opening scenes) the first time I watched it! It's still very good, but for me it falls outside the scope of "rom com" with all those elements (and the attempted rape!).
