Thank you! I'll have to look up those Raymond Carver stories; I'm not familiar with them, but they sound really cool.

It's definitely easier to go from short to longer, rather than the other way around. I can't imagine taking a 3k story and paring it down to just 100 words! Now that would be a challenge!
