Thank you for being supportive of your gay daughter, Julius. I, personally, am a proud bisexual woman, and the poem was written from my own perspective on how little organization and support there is in the LGBT community. People like to think we have it all together, and that there's some kind of structure, but sometimes the LGBT community feels like a nebulous and disorganized group of lonely individuals searching for a life raft.
I am currently married to my amazingly supportive partner, and we plan to have children some day in the nearish future (I'm about your daughter's age). Though my partner and I will (hopefully!) be able to have biological children without intervention, be comforted in the fact that your daughter has a ton of options available to her, more than any previous generation of lesbians. I hope you get your grandbabies someday soon. :)
