This is wildly incorrect and based, I think, on a bad premise. The highest rate of divorce by generation is 48%, and that's among Baby Boomers. Gen X and Millennials have significantly fewer divorces (Millennials are hovering around 26%, though the youngest are only 27 and might still increase the rate a bit). Why did Boomers get divorced almost 50% of the time? Abuse. It was finally legal women to leave abusive marriages, so of course there was a huge spike in the 70s and 80s. No fault divorce, plus women being able to earn their own money and own bank accounts, meant leaving abusive marriages was possible. It's not about family values or people "not working things out," it's about women finally having independence. People are waiting longer to get married and are actually marrying the right person, now, instead of settling for the first boy to ask them out to dinner, because women don't have to rely on men for their basic needs anymore. And I think that's a fantastic thing.
