Unfortunately we'd just moved to a new country, and the only people we knew who spoke English were other internationals in his office. Very hard to make friends in a new culture and a new language, and it was just after COVID restrictions lifted, so I knew literally zero people and these guys knew my husband, which is why I felt like "just the wife" for a long time. The DM and I became friends but the other guys drifted away after the game fizzled out. If I could make more/better friends (especially queer people and women), I'd give it another go. But we move around a lot and it's hard to make friends as an adult! (And unfortunately I struggle with playing online, I just don't find it fun.)
