Well the highlander specifically is born in the 1500s. Ramirez is about 2000 years old. I think the explanation is that there is one immortal born every couple of centuries (and they can basically only kill each other). The Kurgan I believe is meant to be the oldest one, and he's Proto-Indo-European (circa 970 BC, according to Wikipedia). So no Neanderthal immortals!
